Message from Roland Toscano, ECISD Superintendent
Dear East Central Community,
As I look forward to the 2016-2017 school year, I immediately realize how exciting these times are for our district. With the passing of the 2016 bond referendum, ECISD has much to celebrate! On behalf of the entire district, THANK YOU to parents and community members for your continued investment in the future of our children and their schools. This bond program will fund a wide-range of improvements across the district over the next 4 years.
The first phase of projects will include the construction of a new pk-5 elementary/intermediate school in the north sector of the district as well as a centrally located community performing arts center. Phase one buildings are slated for move-in the fall of the 2018 school year. The second phase of construction will include renovations and additions at Harmony, Pecan Valley, Sinclair, and Salado. The design process for this phase will begin the summer of 2018 with completion scheduled for fall of the 2019 school year. During this process, the district will complete renovations to John Glenn, making it an expansion of the high school. ECDC will also be repurposed into a centralized training facility for all district employees and home to the General Education Development (GED) and adult continuation education programs.
Updated information will be continually added to the Bond 2016 page here on the district website. Be sure to visit our website on a regular basis to stay informed along the way. I wish you all the very best and hope that you are enjoying the school year.
